When I started building Baby Wobble in 2023, I had just moved to Bakersfield. My husband grew up here, but I was in stepping into a brand new city as a first-time mom, fresh out of college, figuring out what came next. Instead of returning to an entry-level position, where most of my paycheck would go towards childcare, I decided to take a chance on myself and build something of my own.
I started with the most basic principle of business: identify a need. Bakersfield is a large, growing community, and I believed families deserved more affordable options for their little ones. New parents also needed a welcoming place where they could connect with others who were navigating the same stage of life. That's why our playroom is a core part of our business—it wasn't just for my daughter while I worked, it was created for every family who walks through our doors. My hope is that Baby Wobble inspires families to embrace a more thoughtful way of shopping—one that's easier on the budget, kinder to the planet, and rooted in community instead of consumerism.
My daughter's been part of Baby Wobble from the very beginning. She was touring retail spaces with me before she was a year old. Since we started she has welcomed you in, made lots of friends, and been the best little salesman anyone could find. And now, my husband works alongside me full-time as well, as we prepare for our second baby.
Our hope is simple: that every family who walks through our doors feels welcomed, supported, and part of a community.
Thanks for letting our small family be a small part of yours.
